Our approach to every project is rooted in the principles of collaboration, innovation, and a deep understanding of our client’s vision. Our latest hospitality project in White City exemplifies these values, showcasing our commitment to creating exceptional hospitality spaces that are both inviting and functional.
Situated in a bustling new master planned development in White City, the client required a design that would stand out amidst a plethora of options in the area whilst offering an elevated dining experience. Having worked with this client on a past hospitality project, we had already established a level of trust, mutual respect, and shared vision that allowed us to push creative boundaries with confidence.
NAVIGATING CHALLENGES AND EMBRACING OPPORTUNITIES
The location in a new development of White City presented a unique set of challenges and opportunities. Given its proximity to Westfield shopping centre, the area is replete with quick dining options. Our strategy was to create a destination restaurant, offering a sophisticated dining experience with outdoor seating that invites patrons to relax and enjoy their meals in a serene environment.
Cultural sensitivity was another crucial aspect of our design. Recognising the significant Chinese population in the area, we aimed to create a space that resonated with the local community whilst offering an elevated dining experience with international appeal. This thoughtful approach ensures the restaurant feels both familiar and special to its intended audiences.
As one of the pioneering developments in White City Living, this project is poised to become a vital connection between the area and the local university. Despite the ongoing construction nearby, our design cleverly manages visibility and seating arrangements to maintain an inviting atmosphere. By seating patrons in the bright area first, we create a bustling, lively scene that draws in passersby, making the restaurant appear vibrant and welcoming even from the outside.
CONCEPTUAL BEGINNINGS AND PLANNING
The initial inspiration for the design drew heavily from traditional elements, infusing them with a contemporary twist to create a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere. Our planning phase involved a rigorous exploration of textures, colours, and spatial arrangements to ensure every element of the design contributed to an exceptional dining experience.
One of the most striking features of the design is the creation of two distinct dining zones, each catering to different dining needs. The 'green area' with its lower ceilings provides an intimate setting, perfect for evening dinners. In contrast, the 'lighter area' offers a bright, social environment ideal for lunchtime gatherings. This thoughtful division enhances the versatility and appeal of the space whilst offering a unique and impactful aesthetic.
TEXTURAL RICHNESS AND PRACTICAL DESIGN
Adding texture and depth was a critical component of our design strategy. From fluted walls to the treatment of existing blockwork, every surface was designed with care to ensure a rich visual and tactile experience. No wall was left plain, each featuring unique elements that contribute to the overall aesthetic and atmosphere.
Practicality was also at the forefront of our design considerations. A hidden mezzanine provides additional storage for the kitchen, reflecting our understanding of the operational needs of a hospitality space. The reception area, featuring a striking lantern display, creates a welcoming first impression, whilst the focal bar area seamlessly links the two dining zones, enhancing the flow and functionality of the space.

LOOKING AHEAD
Our collaboration with this client, underpinned by a deep understanding of their needs and aspirations, has resulted in a design that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. We are eagerly anticipating the project's completion and the opportunity to see it come to life, embodying our vision of creating spaces that leave a lasting impression.
As we continue to build our portfolio in hospitality design, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation. This project in White City is just one example of how we blend tradition with modernity, practicality with beauty, to create spaces that resonate with people and stand the test of time.
