The Role at a Glance

We seek a Project Architect with at least five years of post-Part 3 UK experience, ideally in the residential sector. You will work with internal and external teams to create and coordinate design solutions and engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.

Your role will involve direct communication with clients, design teams, contractors, and sub-contractors to meet project scope, budget, and schedule. Depending on project size, you may manage entire projects or focus on specific elements as a Package Architect.

You'll be involved in all project phases, expected to contribute to design reviews and presentations, and confidently share architectural ideas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and a keen eye for detail. Technical proficiency and producing high-quality design and technical documentation are essential.

We're looking for a motivated and experienced architect ready to take on challenging projects and deliver exceptional results. If you are ambitious and committed to high-quality design, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

In your new position, you will:

Project Design Development: Collaborate with Directors to create the project design program, establish the design responsibility matrix, and fine-tune the project's deliverables.

Team Coordination: Plan and coordinate with colleagues to ensure the design scope, technical tasks, deliverables, and project timelines are met.

Client and Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with clients, project managers, cost managers, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors throughout the project's lifecycle.

Compliance and Regulation: Adhere to UK Building Regulations, British Standards, CDM, and industry best practices.

Problem-Solving and Technical Expertise: Tackle complex technical and compliance issues through independent research, experience, and sound judgment.

Team Leadership: Work confidently within a studio and project team, lead independently when necessary, and engage office leadership when needed.

Design Coordination: Coordinate stage reports, drawings, and specifications with the architectural and consultant design teams.

Construction Phase Involvement: Visit construction sites, review submittals and shop drawings, prepare site observation reports, design clarifications, and respond to RFIs. Ensure quality, detail, and finishing align with contract requirements.

Design Implementation: Work with project teams to interpret design concepts and turn them into practical construction systems.

Team Leadership and Mentoring: Lead team members, providing guidance and mentorship, and oversee project documentation and delivery.

Consultant Coordination: Ensure an integrated approach by coordinating with the project consultant team to meet project requirements.

Design and Cost Estimates: Prepare designs, working drawings, and specifications and coordinate cost estimates for the project(s).

Project Documentation: Keep accurate records to document all project phases.
