  • Attend site visits and consultant meetings to gain exposure to delivery processes and professional collaboration

  • Support early-stage design and visualisation work across a range of studio projects as required

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with good time management

  • A methodical, detail-focused approach to documentation and delivery

The core project for this role is the restoration and extension of a historic home in Oxfordshire, a sensitive contemporary restoration of a private residential property that requires craft, care, and attention to detail. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Managing Director, offering the opportunity to lead a project through all stages with a strong focus on design quality and contextual sensitivity.

The role offers exposure to a diverse and evolving portfolio, primarily within the residential and hospitality sectors. It’s a strong opportunity for a newly qualified architect looking to take ownership of meaningful work while growing alongside an engaged and design-led studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • develop detailed design packages for new build, restoration, and extension projects

  • contribute to concept design packages, working in both 2D and 3D

  • deliver interior architectural packages, including material palette studies and detailed specification of finishes

  • coordinate with consultants and communicate with clients throughout all project stages

  • attend site meetings, support inspections, and assist with monitoring construction progress

  • contribute to internal design reviews, working collaboratively to uphold design quality across all stages

  • support and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of shared learning and professional development

  • participate in the development of proposals and presentations for new and existing clients where required

Essential Skills

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • ARB-registered with full RIBA Part III qualifications

  • a minimum of two years’ post-Part II experience within a UK architectural practice

  • strong technical background, with experience delivering complex residential or retrofit projects across RIBA Stages 3–5

  • demonstrable experience working on site, including direct engagement with contractors, resolving construction queries, and attending inspections

  • excellent communication skills, with experience working directly with clients, consultants, and contractors

  • proficiency in AutoCad, Sketchup and Enscape

  • a rigorous approach to technical detailing and quality assurance

  • interest in well-crafted interior architecture and thoughtful materiality

  • passion for design, with an active interest in contributing to the wider architectural conversation of the studio, including design reviews, research, and events

  • comfortable managing multiple workstreams and responding flexibly to evolving project needs

  • a proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to practice-wide dialogue and design development
