Extension and refurbishment of a West London townhouse

This extension and full refurbishment project breathes new life into a tired West London property which has suffered from years of neglect and poorly considered additions. The removal of a rear conservatory allowed a more balanced brickwork rear facade occupying the full width of the property bringing order to the ground floor space. This rear form is balanced by a similar side extension continuing the rhythm and proportion of new brickwork openings carefully crafted to blend into the existing building. The layout of new spaces surround a mature tree with new glass openings creating a fluid connection with the landscape.

A rich palette of internal materials create a calm, natural series of spaces with character and individuality.
