The project develops the existing plot of a villa bungalow into 2 separate sites to propose a natural stone and brass clad villa and adjacent apartments of 4 single storey units perched on the hillside overlooking Monaco and the Cote de Azur, France. The scheme has been developed to maximise the views over the Mediterranean whilst maintaining an elegant and considered form and privacy to rear which faces one of the primary routes into Monaco.

 

Whilst the two sites have different briefs, these are designed as ‘two sisters’ sitting alongside each-other, complimenting each other in form, design and materials. The use of a limestone clad facade and projecting limestone colonnades with integrated louvres at roof level, provide a solid appearance with classical proportions and integrated shading. This is punctured with brass clad highlights and balcony balustrades on both buildings. Modern slim aluminium window frames, anodized with a matching brass finish will provide complementary modern features to support a simple and elegant.
