Meadow Close

Residential extension and comprehensive refurbishment

This project creates an open flow of ground floor spaces in a semi-detached house, connecting the principle elements of family life and increasing first floor bedroom space with a new bay window. The kitchen is set at the heart of the remodelled home, with clear views to open dining and play areas, and sliding doors provide direct connections to the new garden terrace where a continuous work surface and timber flooring unify interior and exterior. Full-height glazing frames views of the garden’s mature trees and enables natural light to wash inside. The crisp brick form acknowledges the proportions of the existing building to compose a carefully tailored and flexible new whole.

Old and new will be precisely knitted together to create a building that both recognises the long history of the site and adds a considered new chapter in the story.
